04月02日：Man proposes, God disposes.谋事在人，成事在天。

1.propose：v. 计划，打算
例如：I propose an early start tomorrow morning.（我打算明天早上早点出发。）
          It's still far from clear what action the government proposes to take over the affair.（政府打算采取何种行动处理该事件仍然十分不明朗。）

2.dispose：v. 处理，安排
例如：I want to dispose of these old books.（我想处理掉这些旧书。）
          I will dispose the matter to your satisfaction.（这件事我一定会处理妥当,包你满意。）

04月03日：He works hard, but he'll never set the Thames on fire.他工作很努力，但不会有什么惊人之举。

1.set the Thames on fire：做出惊人之举，取得非凡成就
例如：Mary may set the Thames on fire with her piano playing. （玛丽可能以她的钢琴演奏而一举成名。）
          You're kidding! A person who hardly reads books can not set the Thames on fire! （你开什么玩笑！一个不怎么看书的人不会有这么大的成功！）

04月04日：He is a toadeater.他是个马屁精。  

1.toadeater：n. 马屁精，谄媚者 (= toady n. 谄媚者，v. 谄媚)
例如：Cliff is a toadeater.（克利夫是个马屁精。）
          He tried to toady to the local influential people.（他设法巴结当地有影响的人。）

1.idler：n. 懒惰者，游手好闲的人
例如：I can't expect help from the idler.（我不能指望那个懒惰者的帮忙。）

2.beggar：n. 乞丐，穷人
例如：The beggar dressed in rags.（这个穷人衣衫褴褛。）

1.danger：n. 危险，危险物，威胁
例如：The operation is a success and now the patient is out of danger.（手术成功了，病人现在已脱离危险。）
          The village was evacuated because of the danger of a flood.（由于洪水的威胁，村里人都已撤走了。）

04月08日：You seem to be in a bad mood.你看起来心情很差。

1.mood：n. 心情，情绪，气氛
例如：I'm not in the mood to disagree with you.（我没有心情和你争论。）
         The movie accurately reflects the mood of the time.（电影真实地反映了当时的气氛。）
