Job Description
Position : Sourcing Manager
Working location: Dubai
Language : English is a must
Chinese and Arabic preferred
General responsibilities:
• Responsible for the effective procurement of assigned commodities.
• Managing sourcing projects from RFQ (Request for Quotation) to sample requesting, product qualification, packaging design and shipping.
• Managing relationship and performance of international suppliers.
Essential responsibilities:
• Conduct market research with marketing department, identify and develop new sourcing opportunities to increase sales.
• Setting quality standards, searching and assessing various suppliers who can meet these standards.
• Research and analyze the supply market, identify and pursue cost saving
opportunities
• Manage responsible sourcing projects from RFQ, sample qualification to order delivery, ensure the project is completed on time and on budget
• Oversee supplier performance in lead time, quality and pricing to ensure it is consistent with established goals and performance metrics
• Conduct price and contract negotiations with existing and new suppliers
• Develop performance metrics for supplier scorecard, coordinate and conduct supplier performance reviews.
Qualifications
• BS/BA in Engineering (electrical or mechanical), Business Administration or International Trade.
• Minimum 6 years work experience, preferably in sourcing, procurement or new product development
• Previous work experience in the lighting, wiring, home appliances or industrial products is highly desired.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate concrete and abstract ideas effectively using both oral and written means.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Ability to take ownership of a project and effectively prioritize work to meet business requirements.
Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, plan and establish priorities to meet deadlines with good control and results.
• Ability to work autonomously, collaboratively, and as a member of cross-functional business team.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills required.
• Strong negotiating skills required.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills. Must use considerable judgment to adapt existing methods;
must be able to make decisions guided by precedent and within the limits of established policies.
• Highly analytical; ability to assess situations using statistical and qualitative analysis and make recommendations and/or decisions to meet business needs specifically.
• Flexible and well organized with a strong attention to details and accuracy.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office and/or other similar databases or software with an ability to adapt learning to incorporate new technology.
