FIRST: STUDYING AT AL QASIMIA UNIVERSITY:
The period of study at Al Qasimia University is four years . During this period, students must finish 129-135 credit hours to gain the Bachelor degree in one of the offered majors. Students who do not speak Arabic must join the intensive Arabic language program during the he period of study at Al Qasimia University is four years . Arabic is the medium of instruction in the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies.
Arabic is the medium of instruction in the College of Arts and Humanities.
Arabic and English are the medium of instruction in the Colleges of Mass Communication and Economics.
Freshmen students who are non-native speakers of Arabic have to take a placement test in Arabic language. Those who pass the test can directly take courses in their major whereas those who do not pass must join the intensive Arabic Language program and finish it by the end of the first year.
SECOND: TERMS OF ADMISSION
1. STUDENTS WHO HOLDING HIGH SCHOOL CERTIFICATE OR ITS EQUIVALENT (THREE YEARS OLD MAXIMUM)
A minimum average of 70% for applying to College of Sharia &Islamic Studies.
A minimum average of 75% for those students who holding Religion high school certificate to admit in College of Sharia & Islamic Studies.
A minimum average of 80% for those students who holding commercial high school certificate to admit in college of Economics.
For all students; study duration period in the high school must be three years at least.
2. STUDENTS WHO HOLDING FOREIGN HIGH SCHOOL CERTIFICATE: (THREE YEARS OLD MAXIMUM)
A. High school Diploma or its equivalent(The International Baccalaureate):
Study duration must be twelve years at least ( attested proven document must be presented).
Attested certificates for grades ten, eleven and twelve must be presented.
Attested graduate certificate must be presented.
Present attested document prove that the graduate certificate can be accepted in any governmental university of applicant state.
Study section (literature or Scientific) will be specified according to the studied courses in grade twelve.
At least 6 courses must successfully passed during high school study period in subjects of; Mathematics, Science, Humanities &Social sciences, and Languages (English language must be included).
Al Qasimia University may count some IB courses with grade 5 and above (12 Credit hrs. max).
B. British Secondary Education Certificate (GCE, GCSE or IGCSE)
Study duration must be twelve years at least ( attested proven document must be presented).
Seven Courses of the highest grades will be counted as following:
A Minimum five courses in Level-O with grade C and above plus two courses in Level-SA with grade D and above.
(Or) A Minimum six courses in Level-O with grade C and above, plus one course in Level-A with grade E and above.
Studied courses should cover fields of; Science, Mathematics, Languages and Humanities & Social Studies.
Al Qasimia University may count some courses in (Level-A)with grade C and above (12 Credit hrs. max).
