Taitung will be hosting the 2012 Hot-Air Balloon Festival from June 29th to September 2nd. The first hot-air balloon festival was held last year from July 1st to August 31st. Pilots were invited from around the world, from Canada to Dubai, to participate. Last year, over 350,000 people from around Southeast Asia came to Taiwan to experience the festival. The Taitung County Government will organize plenty of exciting activities to make sure everyone has a wonderful time and the chance for people to test their ballooning skills! Teams and hot-air balloon summer camp instructors who are enrolled in the event must have an internationally recognized hot-air balloon pilot’s license. Any hot-air balloons brought by participants must also be certified. Taitung is a beautiful city in eastern Taiwan. It’s famous for its uncontaminated natural beauty, distinctive landscapes, and rich aboriginal culture. When you’re not enjoying the hot-air balloons, check out the parachute and kite performances also scheduled as part of the festival. |
